Why The Last Farewell exists

A personal story about farewell, memories and the desire to help others

It started at my grandfather's funeral

When my grandfather passed away, we as a family wanted to create a beautiful photo presentation for the funeral. Photos that told his life story, from young to old, with the music that suited him.

But what should have been a tribute became a stressful task. Collecting photos from family members, putting them in the right order, timing them to the music, making sure everything works on the day itself... It felt like we were more busy with technology than with grieving.

At that moment I thought: this should be easier.

Many people struggle with this

After conversations with families and funeral directors, I discovered this was not an exception. Almost everyone runs into the same problems:

  • Photos are scattered across phones, computers and old albums
  • iPhone photos (HEIC) don't work in PowerPoint
  • PDFs with scanned photos need to be converted
  • The timing of music and photos doesn't match
  • On the day itself, the technology doesn't work

With The Last Farewell you can go through the entire process: collect photos, sort, add music, and export. Without technical hassle.

"Families deserve to say goodbye in peace, without worrying about the presentation."

What I want to do for you

With The Last Farewell I want to make sure you can:
